Jennifer is an emerging Psychotherapist and longtime Registered Midwife whose practice is rooted in relational care, cultural humility, and the decolonization of mental health. With over a decade of experience supporting individuals through birth, parenting transitions, and perinatal mental health, she brings deep presence and compassion to those navigating life’s most transformative thresholds.
Her trauma-aware, culturally responsive approach is shaped by her lived experience as a mixed-race Black woman and her ongoing commitment to anti-oppressive, healing-centered care. Jennifer integrates psychodynamic, somatic, narrative, and solution-focused modalities to create affirming therapeutic spaces that honour complexity and foster connection.
Whether supporting clients through the beginning of life, its end, or the many transitions in between, Jennifer meets each person with grounded empathy and deep respect for their story. She is also training as a Death Doula, expanding her scope to include grief and end-of-life care.
Jennifer offers in-person sessions in West Toronto (Bloor West Village) and virtual therapy across Ontario and other Canadian provinces, where permitted.
Jennifer’s work is rooted in over ten years of experience as a midwife and a deep understanding of perinatal care. She supports individuals who are pregnant, postpartum, trying to conceive, grieving reproductive loss, or adjusting to parenting. She provides a culturally attuned, trauma-informed space for clients to process identity shifts, relationship changes, birth experiences, and the emotional landscape of new or ongoing parenthood.
Her approach honours the complex realities of reproductive journeys, especially for Black, racialized, and marginalized clients. Jennifer understands how systemic inequities, racism, and intergenerational trauma can shape perinatal and parenting experiences, and she strives to hold space that affirms and empowers.
Whether supporting someone through fertility challenges, birth trauma, or the daily overwhelm of parenting, Jennifer offers care that is compassionate, grounded, and holistic. She integrates mind-body practices and narrative work to help individuals reconnect with themselves and their capacity for healing.
