We provide access to an integrated community of culturally safe healthcare services and providers, with a commitment to making your pregnancy safe and stress free.

Our Services

Unique health challenges require a non-generalized approach.

40%
of Black mothers will suffer from postpartum depression
8.9%
of infants born to Black women in Canada were preterm, as compared with 5.9% of infants born to White women
25.9
weeks is the average time it took to receive gynecological treatment after referral

When we acknowledge the problem we make space for change.

Mino Care is a
Culturally safe, anti-racist, patient-centred

access crucial (culturally-safe)
expertise all in one place.
Anti-Racist: Care that is grounded in

by the experiences and needs that
people bring to their healthcare
journey.
About Us

Who we are

Mino Care, formally known as Mommy Monitor Incorporated has rebranded to better reflect the community that we serve. Mino is a term in the Fon Language which means “Our Mothers”. It was used to describe the Dahomey Amazons, who were an all female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey (Benin). Although the Mino did not have their own children, they were viewed as warriors, advocates, protectors, care givers and mother figures to their communities- and as Mino Care, this is our commitment to you.

Testimonials

"I just want to express my sincere gratitude to you for the doula support I received from you…. I feel saved by you especially while my mother's visa was delayed! THANK YOU so much for supporting me at the moment I needed it the most, I honestly do not know what I would have done without your support. Please continue the good work as the impact is amazing."
"Thank you to the whole mommy monitor team, I tell everyone I know how amazing this program is and how helpful it has been since my benefits have been canceled at work."
"My experience with my doula during my first pregnancy was wonderful. She was readily available whenever I had a hard day, or questions on how best to navigate pregnancy and postpartum. The real gift of her presence was felt during the birthing experience, because she really helped support me during the difficult labour with her expert advice and tips. That support was invaluable, I'll never forget the part she played in helping bring my daughter safely into this world"
"I am thankful for all of your help in helping me get ready and pointing me to different resources -- they have been absolutely invaluable!!"
